Students' rally marks World Environment Day

June 06, 2015 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In a bid to create awareness on protection and safeguarding of the environment on the occasion of World Environment Day, Bhatkal Education Trust organized a students' rally comprising school students from New English School and Vidyanjali Public School. The rally began at Shamsuddin Circle and passing through the town terminated at the AC's office where the students were presented with saplings and were advised to plant at their homes. At the rally, the students carried banners and placards on safeguarding of environment. World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). - ARF
