Bhatkal: Unidentified burglars made away with Rs 20,000/- cash and precious ornaments from an empty house at Maulana Azad Road on Tuesday. The burglary occurred in Yahya Damudi’s house.
The house owner informed that the inmates of the house were out of town because of which their house was closed for few days. The incident came to light when the neighbours spotted back door of the house completely open, the information of which was immediately conveyed to the house owner.
On receiving this information, when the owner returned to his house Tuesday evening he found all the house hold items scattered, a gold coin, a silver necklace and cash worth Rs 20,000/- missing from the locker.
Upon receiving information, a police team reached the site of incident and carried out preliminary investigations. However, they haven't got any clue on the thieves as of yet.
Notably, a theft was also reported at Qazia Street in Bhatkal few days ago where burglars stole precious ornaments worth Rs 15 lakhs.
