State government bans deep sea fishing along the coast of Uttara Kannada for 61 days

Uttar Kannada 01 June 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The state government has announced its order banning the deep sea fishing along the coastal region of Uttara Kannada district for next 61 days citing monsoon, storms and high tides during the monsoon season. The ban that has been enforced from June 1st to July 31st by the government, instructs all the fishermen to stay away from the deep sea fishing as there is a possibility of high tides and sea storms during monsoon. Government has also issue a notice to fishermen that no insurance claims will be honored if they violate the rules. Adding to it the fishermen would be punished along with the fines under Karnataka coastal fishing(regulation) act 1986. However all fishermen have been urged to follow the order and co-operate with the government. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
