BENGALURU: Close on the heels of the PU Education Board granting grace marks for blunders in the second-year English and maths question papers, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has taken the same route to neutralize a gaffe in its Kannada-medium maths paper in the SSLC exam. The KSEEB on Monday announced four grace marks for one flawed question in the maths paper. The board took the decision after receiving complaints from SSLC candidates and parents about an error in the paper. The board consulted question paper experts before announcing the decision. Yashoda Bopanna, director of KSEEB, told TOI that the maths paper was first set in English; the error crept in when it was translated into Kannada. "The grace marks will be given to all Kannada-medium students. Those who did not attempt the question will also get the grace marks. But grace marks will not be given to English-medium students," she said, ""because the question in the English-medium paper is correct."
