SSLC results announced, Uttara Kannada district secures second spot in the state; schools in Bhatkal perform well

Bhatkal 07 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Results for the recently concluded Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board’s (KSEEB) Secondary School Leaving Certificate were announced on Monday May 07. The pass percentage of girls across the state stands at 78.01%, while boys recorded 66.56%. Among districts Udupi district topped the chart with highest pass percentage of 88.18%, while Uttara Kannada bagged second spot with 88.12% a three spots' improvement from the previous year when the district was ranked fifth in the state with 79.82%. Meanwhile Yadgiri district had the lowest pass percentage in the state with 35.54%. Out of 8.38 lakh students who appeared for the exam from across the state, 6.02 lakh students cleared the examination. The results were announced by Principal Secretary of the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Shalini Rajaneesh. In Bhatkal, students of Naunihal Central School secured 100% results in the examinations with Zainab Barmawar D/o Syed Usman Barmawar scoring 607 marks (97.12%). Siddharta English Medium High School secured 94% of overall pass percentage with Ashwini being the topper of the school by scoring 610 marks (97.6%). Beena Vaidya International Public School secured 97.44% of overall pass percentage, with Shravan Gowda scoring 606 marks (96.96%). Students of Anjuman Girls English Medium High School (Nawayath colony) secured 94.28% of pass percentage with Aysha Shingeri d/o Shaheen Shingeri scoring 588 marks (94.08%). Anjuman Girls High School secured 77.70% of pass percentage with Aisha Abdul Rab Khateeb scoring 568 marks (90.88%). Anjuman Boys High School (ABHS) secured 85.71% overall result with Ameer Bin Mehfooz s/o Muneer Mohiddin Muallim scored 568 marks (90.88%). Shams English Medium High School secured 74.00% of overall pass percentage with Zarnain scoring 570 marks (91.2%). Islamia Anglo Urdu High School (IAUHS) secured 70.40% of overall pass percentage with Mohammed Afraz s/o Mohammed Ansar Momin scoring 531 marks (84.95%). Darshan Datta Naik, of Anand Ashram Convent School scored 97.76% of aggregate marks and was believed to be the topper of the town, however the information could not be verified due to unavailability of consolidated data with the authorities which is expected to be out on Tuesday afternoon.
