SSLC exams from today

Bangalore - 02 April 2012:With the PU exams in troubled waters, the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board (KSEEB) has taken all measures to ensure that no untoward incident occurs. As many as 8.39 lakh students across the State are writing the exam this year.

The police department would look into the security arrangements for examination centres and also escort the question papers and answer papers to these centres.

In the light of the recent fiasco of PU question papers, the police have been instructed to keep a vigil on photocopy centres and such other places which are likely to turn hubs for question paper leak during exams.

D Venkateshaiah, director, KSEEB, told Deccan Herald that the examination board helpline which was set up on March 25 has received 250 calls till now from candidates appearing for the exam. He observed that not many calls were related to examination stress this time.

The helpline numbers are 080- 2331 2244/2331 2245. From Monday, the helpline will function between 9 am and 1:30 pm. It will function till the exams are completed.
