Speeding car hits electricity pole in Bhatkal, passengers escape with minor injuries

Bhatkal 13 December 2019: Passengers in car escaped with minor injuries after their vehicle rammed to an electricity poll here on National Highway 66 near Shifa Cross of Bhatkal on Thursday morning. According to the reports the car which was coming from Telangana, after visiting Sabarimala in Kerala was heading towards Murdeshwar when the driver lost control over the vehicle and he rammed it into a electricity pole near besides NH 66 here. After the collision the electricity pole fell down on the ground. Alert locals immediately informed the HESCOM authorities about the incident and the power supply in the region was promptly disconnected. HESCOM however reported loss worth 25,000 due to the accident. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station.
