Special traffic restrictions announced around Bhatkal Ramzan Bazaar ahead of Eid

Bhatkal: With large crowds expected for Eid-ul-Fitr shopping, Bhatkal police have announced special traffic regulations and temporary route diversions around the Ramzan Bazaar area to manage congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles.

In a press release, Bhatkal Town Police urged the public to cooperate with the arrangements and follow the traffic guidelines during the festive shopping period.

According to the police, vehicles will be allowed to travel from the Old Bus Stand through Maulana Azad Road. However, entry of all vehicles has been completely prohibited on the road leading to the Ramzan Market from Sultan Street via Misbah Cross.

The stretch from Marikatta to the Flower Bazaar will continue to function as a one-way route. Vehicles will not be allowed to move from Marikatta towards the Old Bus Stand. Commuters travelling in that direction have been advised to use Sultan Street or Car Street instead. Parking of vehicles on both sides of the road near the Maulana Azad Road Cross has also been prohibited.

Designated parking facilities have been arranged for visitors. The ground of Islamia Anglo-Urdu High School, located behind the municipal building, will be available for parking from 4 pm to 3 am. Parking will also be permitted at the Public Chabutra during the same time period.

Residents living along the stretch between the Old Bus Stand and Marikatta will be issued special vehicle passes. Pass holders have been advised to use only two-wheelers until 8 pm, while the use of four-wheelers and larger vehicles will not be permitted.

Shopkeepers operating in the area will also receive passes. Each shop will be allowed to use only one two-wheeler, and they have been directed to transport goods for their shops between 6 am and 10 am.

Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with these arrangements in view of the heavy crowd and traffic expected in the Ramzan Bazaar during the Eid shopping season.
