Bhatkal: 06 November,25 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In a move aimed at easing traffic congestion and ensuring stricter enforcement of road rules, special traffic police personnel have been deployed at key junctions across Bhatkal.
From Monday, officers in full traffic police uniform began duties at Shamsuddin Circle, one of the busiest spots in the town. The operation is being conducted under the guidance of DySP Mahesh and CPI Diwakar, with supervision by PSI Naveen Naik and PSI Timmappa.
Traffic Officer Satyanand from Karwar provided training and instructions to the newly deployed personnel on their responsibilities and methods to regulate traffic effectively.
With the number of vehicles in Bhatkal taluk rising sharply in recent years, managing road movement has become a serious challenge for local authorities. Despite repeated public appeals, a dedicated Traffic Police Station is yet to be established in the town.
Responding to growing concerns, the local police department has now appointed ten special traffic constables to handle traffic management duties, marking the beginning of a more organised system to regulate movement across major routes in Bhatkal.
