Soon, benefits for APL card holders as well

July 20, 2014 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In addition to providing benefits to BPL card holders such as rice at subsidized rates, the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Karnataka is now planning to provide some benefits to APL card holders as well, said Dinesh Gondurao speaking to media reporters here. Elaborating more on this he said, "Now, since the government has introduced bio-metrics while applying for Ration Card, it has helped curb fake ration cards and hence government is considering to provide some benefits to APL card holders too," This announcement would be looked on positively especially by residents of Bhatkal as approximately 60% of residents here are APL card holders. - ARF
