Snake like worm found in 'Maa' Juice Packet

Bhatkal - 17 Sep 2012: Snake like worm found in 'Maa' Mango Juice packet here at the Canteen of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal. The contaminated packet was handed over to the Police. According to the FIR registered at Bhatkal police statiom, a 12-year old student identified as Abdul Mannan s/o. Abdul Sattar Kazia bought a Juice pack from School Canteen. He saw something blackish on the small opening from where the straw is inserted into the packet. He went to the counter to exchange the pack but the canteen owner refused to take it back. Then he inserted the straw and started sipping the juice, but to his surprise, the juice stopped coming out. He handed over the packet to his friend and he also failed to sip the juice. Later he forcefully pressed the packet and he saw snake like black worm emerging out of a small opening.

Speaking to 'bhatkallys.com' the boy said, when he saw the worm he started vomiting and felt uneasy.

On receiving the news, Bhatkal CPI Mr Beliyappa along with PSI Mr Naveen Jogi visited the spot and seized the packet. The police team also investigated the boy. Later Health Inspector from Karwar, Tanzeem representatives and others visited the spot. Packet sample was also sent to Bangalore Laboratory for test.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal police station and the investigation is going on.

It may be recalled that, 3 months back similar kind of incident reported in Bhatkal.
