Six-year old dies after accidentally touching 'illegal' electric fence in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 2 July 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A six-year old kid died after he accidently touched a electric fence which was meant to keep the animals from entering the fields here at Kargadde of Venkatapur Gram Panchayat limits on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Kushi Eshwar Naik (6), the kid reportedly breathed her last while she was being taken to hospital after the incident. According to sources, Kushi along with others had come to the field for playing where she accidently touched the live electric fence wire and was electrocuted, sources also added that the impact of the electrocution was doubled due to the wet field owing to rain. As it is illegal to lay electric wires in land to prevent wild animals entering to field, the rural police have registered a case against Sukra Mangala Gonda, owner of the field. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural police station. (Bhatkallys  News Bureau)
