Six students of Bhatkal school admitted to hospital for food poisoning

Murdeshwar 1 November 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) At least six students of Murarji Desai Residential school of Murdeshwar were admitted to hospital here at Shirali as they reported uneasiness after having their food here on Wednesday evening.
The student have been identified as Raksha Uppara (13), Kirthana Naik (13), Harshita Naik (12), Sindhu Poojari (13), Veena Naik (12) and Anthu Naik (12).
As per sources, on Wednesday as usual the students of the school after having their breakfast had their lunch in the afternoon. However, around 4 pm five student from 7th standard and one from 6th standard started having uneasiness in stomach and also started vomiting. Immediately the school principal called the school staff nurse for first aid treatment and the students were later shifted to the hospital.
As the information was alerted to Tahsildar VN Bhadkar, he soon rushed to the hospital and enquired about the health of the student.
Talking to the Media Principal Veda Naik informed that “About 176 students reside in our residential school and as per the government’s regulations we are providing them the food. Moreover, along with the student the teachers here also have the same food. So we cannot directly claim that this is a case of food poisoning.”
Doctor Hemavathi Heble who treated the students said “About six students of the school were admitted this evening. However, all the students have recovered now and are back to their school. This is a case of food poisoning” she added.
