SIO Bhatkal unit submits memorandum to AC; Condemn the killing of veteran journalist Gauri Lankesh

Bhatkallys News Bureau Bhatkal 06 Sept 2017: Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) Bhatkal unit, today joined the list of hundreds of organizations that are protesting against the murder of Senior Journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru on Tuesday evening. Gauri was shot at her residence from ‘close range’ as per the initial investigation of the police. The SIO Bhatkal unit in the presence of their unit president Zuhair SM and Secretary Abud Asif submitted an memorandum to the Governor of the state through Bhatkal Assistant commissioner (AC) demanding a quick and fair investigation of the case. The memorandum also had a mention of the killing of MM Kalburgi, also a left writer and scholar who was killed in August last year and how his killers were still on the run, with police still looking for the traces of the culprits. The memorandum also demanded the arrest of some anti-social elements who were seen celebrating after the reports of the murder came out on News screens. The Tuesday’s murder saw several organizations protesting against the killing of the veteran Journalist, with several prominent personalities including Journalist Ravish Kumar and other senior journalists taking to the streets of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Udupi and other cities. Sanaullah Asadi, Mujahid Mustafa, Muhammad Talha Siddibapa, Safwan Armar, Najeeb Ikkeri and others were present during the protest.
