Siddaramaiah demands resignation of Eashwarappa

Belgaum, Dec 16, 2012 (PTI) Congress leader Siddaramaiah today demanded the resignation of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa in the wake of serious allegations of corruptions levelled against him. Speaking to reporters at Sambra airport here, he said the "BJP leader is now accused of serious incidents of corruption. To pave the way for impartial probe against him, he should quit to the post immediately". The Special Lokayukta court has asked the police to probe allegations of corruption and amassing of wealth disroportionate to his known sources of income by Eshwarappa in private complaints filed against him for which sanction of Governor has been sought for prosecuting him. Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP government was in minority as 14 legislators had attended Karnataka Janata Party convention organised by rebel leader B S Yeddyurappa last week. The government had failed to protect the interests of farmers in the Cauvery belt, he said.
