Siddapur: Two arrested transporting 48 kg Sandalwood on bike

Siddapur 27 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Forest officials of Siddapur on Wednesday arrested two persons while illegally transporting sandalwood on a two wheeler at Harijanakeri of Siddapur. The detained accused have been identified as Mubarak Basha and Rashid Abdul Sab, both residents of Sagar. According to the sources, when the two accused were illegally transporting 48 kg of Sandalwood on their TVS Heavyduty, a team led by Lokesh R Patankar caught hold and detained the accused. Forest officers Ashok C Poojary, Hanumath B Kilari, Narayana Madiwal, and Raju T Naik were part of the operation. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
