Udupi : "Respected CM, if you can provide sufficient electricity only then rule the state or else its better you resign and go”, said former minister Shobha Karandlaje who contested the LS polls from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency. Speaking to the media during her first visit to the district after the Lok Sabha election she said, “Without any information and real facts or figures, the CM had given a statement against me, which is incorrect.” She said that instead of hurling allegations, Siddaramaiah should do a study on new power stations, power lines and the additional watts of electricity which were contributed to the state during the BJP   tenure. "All the documents are available in the departments concerned. Let him compare the quantity of the electricity generated during the BJP tenure and the present Congress government and then speak,” she said. "I have not taken the KEB (Karnataka Electricity Board) fuse to my home," she criticized CM for taking the issue lightly and blaming on BJP without any proper information. She added public should not suffer because of the differences between the  Energy Minister and CM. She demanded that Congress government must stop playing tricks by providing electricity only till election after which the regular power cuts were initiated. It can be recalled that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had earlier charged Shobha, the former energy minister during BJP tenure, of destroying the power sector in Karnataka. Stating that load-shedding in summer was inevitable, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had squarely blamed the BJP's five-year rule for the power crisis.   Courtesy: News Karnataka
