Shobha Karandlaje visits Bhatkal, warns police department against any further arrest of BJP members

Bhatkal September 19, 2017: Shobha Karandlaje, BJP MP from Chickmanglur and Udupi today visited Bhatkal and made several allegation against Siddaramaiah led Congress’ state government of conspiring against the Hindu community in the region.
Her visit to the town comes in light of recent arrests of BJP members on charges for vandalizing the Municipality building during the protests against the TMC’s crackdown on shop owners without proper bond papers.
She also met the family of Ramachandra Naik, who had attempted suicide in TMC complex as a protest and later died in a hospital in Manipal, she strongly batted for a compensation of Rs. 10 lacs to his family from the government. While trying to give political color to his death she also blamed the police for his death and said the police officials did nothing to save Ramachandra. She termed the incident ‘A Murder of Hindu’.
Speaking at the press conference, she blamed State government of instigating communal tension in the region and trying to bring in 1993 communal riot like situation in the coastal region.
She recalled some of the recent incidents including the arrests of BJP member in Gangavathi, and Kaladka and added that it was part of conspiracy and vote bank politics of the congress government looking at the importance of the coastal region in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Later while speaking with the Bhatkal Dy. SP, she warned him of protests in case of any further arrests of BJP members or activist, while terming the arrests as ‘illegal’ and part of ‘dirty politics’ of the Congress government.
