Shiroor: Bhatkal man dies on the spot, another injured in a road mishap

Bhatkallys News Bureau Shiroor 12 March 2018: One person died on the spot while another sustained injuries in a road mishap which took place in the early hours of Monday March 12, when the two victims were travelling on their bike towards Tarasi from Bhatkal. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rakeeb (25) a resident of Chowtani locality of Bhatkal while the injured has been identified as Abu (22). The reason of the accident was not known till late Monday morning as the deceased and injured were noticed by locals probably hours after the incident took place. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com over the phone call Byndoor Police Station ASI Mahabal, confirmed that the reason was not known whether it is an case of hit and run of the accident was a result of the victim's bike skidding and falling off the road, he further added that the facts of the case can only be ascertained when the injured Abu's statement can be recorded by the police and said he is under the state of shock right now and is not in a position to speak though he is out of danger. He is being treated at a Kundapur Hospital, added Mahabal The body of Abdul Rakeeb has been shifted to Byndoor Govt Hospital and is expected to be handed over to the family by the noon after the post mortem, confirmed Mahabal. A friend of Abdul Rakib, Sanaullah Asadi while speaking to Bhatkallys.com said "Abdul Rakib's father died a few years ago and he was the only son and bread earner of the house, it is an unfortunate incident." A case has been registered at Byndoor Police Station and further investigations are underway.
