Shirali: Locals urge officials to take down illegal alcohol shops in village

Bhatkal 18 February 2020: The locals here at Shirali on Monday submitted a memorandum to Assistant Commissioner and Excise Department urging them to take action on illegal sale of alcohol as the sale of liquor in the locality had been on all time high over the last few months. The locals in the memorandum urged that, "There are about five shops in the village of Shirali which are selling the alcohol without any permits. Due to this people here have developed the bad habit of drinking regularly, weakening the economic conditions of their family." The locals urged the officials to take actions on the sale of Alcohol at the earliest as it was having wrong consequences on the society. Assistant Commissioner Sajjid Mulla accepted the memorandum and assured action to the locals. On this occasion Krishna Naik, Biliya Naik, Dinesh Naik, Raju Naik, Lokesh Naik and others were present while submitting the memorandum.
