Shirali: Locals protests against HESCOM for not replacing electricity poll that collaped due to rain

Shirali 13 August 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)The locals here at Shirali held a protest against HESCOM officials by blocking the road to Alvikodi for not replacing the electricity poll even after three days after it collapsed and fell down due to rain, here on Monday evening. As the electric poll had collapsed near Tattihakkal of Shirali, people here had to face power cut for over three days as no replacement of the poll was made. However, irked over the ignorance of HESCOM officials, the locals here protested by blocking the road to Shirali. Bhatkal Rural Police rushed to the spot to control the situation soon as they were alerted about the protest. Gram Panchayat President Venkatesh Naik also reached the spot and informed the matter to HESCOM Assistant Engineer Manjunath, after which the replacement of electricity poll was made.
