Shiradi Ghat off limits until further orders: DC

Mangaluru: The Shiradi Ghat has been completely closed for vehicular traffic until further orders, said a communique dated August 15 issued from the Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil's office here. There were many reports of landslides due to heavy rainfall yesterday on the National Highway that connects Mangaluru with the state capital. This has prompted the district administration to close the road for ensuring safety of the travellers. Charmadi Ghat will remain open for traffic, the DC said. Source: News Karnataka
