Shams High School Takes Away Inter-School Footbal Trophy

BHATKAL,22nd Nov (Bhatkallys News): Shams English Medium High School beat The New English High School (NES) yesterday at the BIFA organised two days Inter-School Football Tournament at the YMSA. Shams beat the NES at the penalty shoot-out with 3-1, after the game was equal with 1-1. The Trophy was presented by the TMC President, Inayatulla Shabandri to the winning team, and by Mr Muzaffar Kola to the Runner-up team. A cash prize of Rs. 3000 for the winners and Rs. 2000 for the Runner-up was announced by Mr. Muzaffer Kola on the spot.

Abrar Megun, of Shams High School was given the Best Player for his wonderful game in the tournament and Roopesh, of the NES was given the Best Goali.

A total of ten teams from different high schools of Bhatkal took part in this tournament which was played over two days.

BIFA (Bhatkal Inter Football Association) who have been promoting football in Bhatkal and organising taluka level torunaments for the past 3 years, is this year trying to promote football in the school students by organising training sessions in the evening at YMSA ground. An upcoming district level tournament was announced by BIFA to be held in the 1st week of Jan next year.
