Setback to Tejasvi Surya: HC dismisses restriction on media houses imposed by lower Court

Bengaluru: In a major setback to the Bengaluru South’s BJP candidate Tejasvi Surya, Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed lower court’s order that instructed media houses not to telecast negative news against him. Karnataka High Court in its order noted that the media houses cannot be restricted to publish something, however if the materials posted are defamatory then the other party can approach Election Commission with their complaints”.
