Senior citizens couple commits suicide in Ullal, urges niece to take care of pets in suicide note

Mangaluru: An aged couple, on Tuesday, committed suicide by hanging themselves at their residence here in Ullal. The deceased have been identified as Devaraj (74) and his wife Vasanthi (64). According to the reports Devaraj was a former employee of Akashvani. In a suicide note found at their home, the couple has named all their property to Shweta, niece of Devaraj. They have also urged Shweta to take care of their pets (a dog and a cat). According to the sources Deveraj and Vasanthi had no kids. According to the suicide note, the couple committed suicide owing to the chronic illness they both were suffering from. Ullal Police Inspector, Gopikrishna and other staffs visited the spot and conducted initial investigations on Tuesday morning. Source: Vartha Bharathi
