Senior citizen killed in road mishap at Murdeshwar

Bhatkal: A 65-year old man died on the spot after being hit by a bolero truck on NH 66 at Basti of Murdeshwar in Bhatkal Taluk. He was reportedly heading towards Murdeshwar from Bailoor on his bike when the accident took place on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Ishwar Naik (65), a resident of Bailoor. According to the reports a Bolero mini-truck that was carrying fish from Bhatkal-Hubli rammed into Ishwar’s bike killing him on the spot. The local however tried to save Ishwar by rushing him to hospital but by the time he reached hospital Ishwar had breathed his last. Bhatkal CPI KL Ganehs and Murdeshwar Police personnel rushed to the spot after being informed about the accident. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
