Security beefed up in Bhatkal ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit

Bhatkal 25 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A intelligence bureau team took stock of security preparations at the premises of the ground where Congress President Rahul Gandhi along with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will hold a public rally on Thursday 26 April. Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah and other mainstream party leaders are expected to visit Bhatkal on Thursday for party campaigning ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for May 12. Security in and around the ground in Venkatapur has been beefed up to avoid any untoward incident, Intelligence Bureau officials were seen inspecting the preparations while closely monitoring every movement of labor workers and other people present in the ground on the eve of Wednesday. A Intelligence from Delhi is in town from two days to coordinate with local police and take stock of the security preparations and measures. Meanwhile, District Police force led by Uttara Kannda Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil and Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentine D'souza is leaving no stone unturned to make sure loophole or security lapse during the event. Police force from several districts of the state have been called in for the bandobast. This will be second high-profile political visit in Bhatkal in last five months after CM Siddaramaiah earlier visited the town on Dec 06 to address a 'historic turn out' of people at the police parade ground.
