SDMCA wins Midmac Trophy - 2012

Hubli - 01 April 2012: Karnataka State Level Cricket Tournament, "Midmac Trophy - 2012" organized by Karnataka Star Sports Club, Hubli here at Nehru Stadium concluded with SDMCA clinching the trophy defeating KIOC Bangalore by 20 runs in the final match. KIOC won the toss and put SDMCA into bat. SDMCA scored 170 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 25 overs. Chasing the victory target of 171, KIOC Bangalore managed to score only 150 runs losing all their wickets in 23.1 overs.

It may be interesting to note that, there were several Ranji Trophy, KPL and IPL players in these two teams. This tournament was started on 15th March 2012 and its first match was played between Anjuman Bhatkal and Hubli.

The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a beautiful trophy while the runner up got Rs 50,000/- and a trophy. Mr Habeeb Tarpatri of SDM Dharwad won the best batsman award. Mr Raju got best bowler award while Mr Deepak Chowgley awarded with Man of the Series.

On this occasion former India wicket-keeper, Mr Syed Kirmani, Mr Ramchandra Rao (Police Commissioner, Hubli), Mr Mohammed Ismail Samsi (President, Karnataka Star Sports Club and Chairman Midmac Development Pvt Ltd.), Mr Altaf, Mr Tabrez Samsi and others were present on the stage.
