Schools in Bhatkal shut due to heavy rain

Bhatkal 13 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Block Education Officer (BEO) MR Munji, on Monday declared holidays for all schools of Bhatkal Taluka on Tuesday, citing heavy rains that has gripped the coastal Karnataka from Sunday evening. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains for next five days in coastal Karnataka. Earlier in the day, Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul had ordered schools of other parts of the district to remain closed on Tuesday, while in Udupi District, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis declared holiday for the second day, i.e, on August 14 for schools and pre-university colleges in Udupi district due to the heavy rains. In Bhatkal, the teachers will have to show up at the schools to monitor and supervise the activities and preparations for Independence day at their respective schools.
