Schools, colleges to remain shut in Bhatkal on Monday

Bhatkal 9 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal's leading socio-political organisation Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, has decided to support the National level Bandh, called by the Congress and left parties against the hikes in fuel prices lately. Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem on Sunday called an urgent meeting of its executive member where it was decided that the organisation should support the protest, later in an official press release  General Secretary Altaf Kharuri, has called on people to support the Bandh and has requested them to keep their businesses shut for a day to mark their protest against the fuel prices hike across the country by the Narendra Modi led BJP government. Meanwhile, JD(s) Bhatkal also announced its support earlier in the day, to the Bandh called by Congress. JD(s) Bhatkal Taluka president Inayathullah Shabandri, while speaking to Bhatkallys.com added that the party will support the Bandh and its members and activist will take part in any rally organised by Congress. CPI (M) Bhatkal has also joined hand with Congress and announced its participation in the Bandh while requesting its members and activists to be part of it. However, Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul, also announced that schools and colleges across the district will remain closed as safety precaution. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
