School buses should get same priority as ambulances during summers: Jharkhand CM

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that school buses should be given the same priority on roads as ambulances during the summer season to ensure that students reach home early. Hemant Soren further urged people to make efforts to give way to school buses in consideration of the scorching heat. Speaking at a school function, the chief minister remarked, “ At present, the temperature is on the rise at several places. In such a situation, a school bus should get the right to proceed before other vehicles, as an ambulance, so that young children reach home early.” “The government will decide in this regard soon,” he added.

HEATWAVE IN JHARKHAND

Most regions in Jharkhand had been suffering from the heatwave situation till Wednesday, but the temperature dropped by four to five degrees celsius after rainfall was recorded in isolated places in the last 24 hours. The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has forecast that another heat wave would begin on April 25 in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, and Giridih. Ranchi, which reached a high of 37.2 degrees Celsius on Friday, is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius on April 24, according to meteorological experts.

SHIFT IN JHARKHAND SCHOOL TIMINGS

The school education and literacy department recently revised the school timings in consideration of the heatwave conditions across the state and have now been asked to operate between 6 am and 12 noon. (Source: India Today)
