JEDDAH: Vision 2030 would create more jobs for citizens and increase their standard of living, said Labor Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani, according to a press report on Wednesday. Al-Haqabani’s comments come in the wake of the announcement Monday by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of sweeping economic reforms to ensure long-term sustainable development, with plans for a $2 trillion sovereign fund. Al-Haqabani said the government’s plan would ensure a diversified economy and ensure growth that would translate into prosperity for all citizens. This would be achieved through a raft of measures that include the further regulation of the labor market. He said this could only be achieved with long-term partnerships between the public and private sectors, better education and training, and incentives for both companies and individuals. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman had met with Al-Haqabani and a group of representatives from the private sector on Tuesday at Al-Yamamah Palace, and said the government would continue to invest in the training and education of citizens.
