Temperatures in Saudi Arabia could hit an excruciating 70?Celciusover the next two months, Saudi Arabic dailyAl Watanreported.
According to Saudi astronomer Dr. Khalid Al Zaaq from theArab Federation for Space Science, this summer is expected to be exceedinglyhot in the Kingdom over the next 60 days, with temperatures reaching 70?Cunder direct sunlight and 50?C in the shade.
Temperature can reach 70?C in open and desert areas as wellas mountainous terrain, according to the report.
Al Zaaq also said that this coming Friday, June 22, will bethe longest day in the year in Saudi Arabia.
Average summer temperatures in Saudi Arabia can typically reach 45?C with highs of 54?C.
