Salam Damda laid to rest

Bhatkal - 12 Sep 2011: Grief, sorrow and shock shrouded the faces of hundreds of people honoring the last rites of Damda Salam who was found dead in a forest on Sunday. The body was disfigured beyond recognition as it was brought to Bhatkal late at night.

Salam's body was kept at his house in Shifa Colony for half an hour before being moved to the Jamia masjid to complete funeral prayers.

Shortly before 11 PM, Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi lead the funeral prayers as the body was laid to rest in the nearby Ghausia street graveyard.
