Bhatkal: District in-charge RV Deshpande inaugurated the blood storage unit in Bhatkal Govt Hospital for provision of blood at appropriate rates to needy patients. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Deshpande addressed the public and said that this unit has been made available because of the efforts of Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner, eminent social worker Syed Hasan Barmawar and with the cooperation of SM Syed Khaleelur Rahman.
On this occasion, Syed Hasan Barmawar mentioned various issues related to Govt Hospital and requested that immediate measures be taken to resolve them. He said that the Govt Hospital building is huge but lacks adequate facilities like qualified doctors, etc. In cases of road accidents, patients are just provided first-aid treatment here and then sent to Manipal or Kundapur. Hence, appropriate arrangements should be made and qualified doctors should be recruited in the hospital.
After listening to all this, Mr. Deshpande instructed the concerned officers to make arrangements for doctors and other facilities in the hospital. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner VRP Manohar, Incharge Tahsildar Abdul Lateef Ghani, MLA Mankal Vaidya, Panchayat member Jai Shree Moger, Albert D'costa, and other people were present. On the same day, Mr. Deshpande also inaugurated a new building in Govt Hospital, Shirali.
