RRB Recruitment 2018 begins; Know when and where to apply

New Delhi: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has begun inviting people to apply for the post of 26502 Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians for various Zonal Railways/Production Units on Indian Railways. The last date to apply online for the posts is March 5, 2018. The Indian Railways has released 17,673 vacancies for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) with a minimum pay scale of Rs 19,990 for the Level 2 of seventh Pay Commission Pay Matrix. For the post of Technicians, a total number of 8,829 posts have been released by the Indian Railways with a minimum pay scale of Rs 19,990 for Level 2 of seventh Pay Commission Pay Matrix. Educational qualifications for the posts include the candidate should have a Degree or Diploma in Relevant Engineering Discipline, or Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) with Physics and Maths, or should have passed 10th class with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in relevant Trades. The candidate should only be Indian with a minimum age of 18 years to a maximum age of 28 years, as on July 1, 2018. If the candidate is from Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe (SC/ST), they get extra 5 years, while if the candidate is from OBC category, they get 3 years extra, and for Persons with Disability Category (PWD), they get 10 years extra age limit. The selection process will have two stages, the First Stage CBT and Second Stage CBT, common for both the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians. The ones who will qualify the Second Stage CBT, opting for ALP, will have to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT). The application fee for the UR/OBC Male candidates is Rs 500, while for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWDs/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class is Rs 250. Payment can be made via Internet Banking or debit/credit cards or through challan in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) or Computerised Post Office Pay-in-Slip.
