Road accident in Shirali kills one person, 15 injured

Shirali 5 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) One person was killed and about 15 other sustained injuries when a truck crashed into a passenger tempo from behind at Sharadahole bridge of Shirali here on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as Bairappa Naik (58), a resident of Sharadahole of Shirali. The incident occurred when a local tempo on its way to Murdeshwar, was rammed into by a speeding truck when the tempo had stopped near the Sharadahole bridge for Bairappa to get down at his stop, as a result the tempo toppled into a drench, injuring 15 while killing Bairappa on the spot. The injured were soon rushed to the Taluka Government hospital of Bhatkal for treatment. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
