Sheikh Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Esry, prominent scholar, will preside over the function. Two short lectures on the Seerah of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) by Moulana Ilyas and Dr R. Narayan will be part of the event.

According to Aftab Kola, co-ordinator of the event, 'The organisers appeal to all the participants of the essay contest and people of all faiths (including the ladies) to attend the function. Children below 12 will not be permitted at the function.'

The essay contest has been widely appreciated as this was done probably for the first time in Oman on this scale. The organisers have also thanked the non-Muslims for taking interest in writing about the Prophet and his message of peace. Organisers have appealed to the members of the society and particularly to the participants not to call the organizers to know the results before the programme and instead attend the programme on 15th September, on Thursday to know who are the lucky ones to have won the prizes and earned the blessings. There are three top prizes in each of the four categories and there will be two consolation prizes in the non-Muslims category.
