Residents protest against bad drainage system

Bhatkal – Residents of Venkatapur area of Bhatkal taluk staged protest outside Assistant Commissioner’s office against bad drainage system. Speaking on this occation they said, after the construction of treatment plant in their area, TMC has not bothered about its maintenance due to which the entire area is full of dirt and badly smelling. They are finding it difficult to stay in their houses after 7:00 pm as the area is full of mosquitoes and other insects. They blamed TMC for polluting the river by releasing toxic water directly into the river without doing proper treatment. On this occasion a memorandum was submitted to Assistant Commissioner, Mr V R P Manohar requesting him to visit the area for inspection. Bhatkallys News Service / Rizwan Gnagavali
