Residents demand closure of illegal Bar Restaurant

BHATKAL: Residents of Ranginkatte and surrounding area recently staged dharna in front of Bhatkal Municipality demanding immediate closure of Hotel Four Season & Bar which is located near Rangeenkatte on NH-66. According to the complaint registered at the Municipality office, the Hotel is running an illegal Bar in the area surrounded by School, College, Court Complex and Residential Apartments. In their complaint it is mentioned that, the drunken customers create nuisance and involve in eve-teasing girl students. Due to this people fear passing through this area in the night time. It may be noted that, one Kannada newspaper recently asked people to submit their grievances on whether the Municipality should grant permission for this Bar or not. In response to this news, people registered their strong protest and demanded closure of such Bar. After listening the complaint, Municipality Chief Offier, Ms Anupama agreed to sent notice asking the owner to close the Bar immediately.
