Bengaluru: There is a strong fight between three senior Congress leaders Ramalinga Reddy, G Parameshwara and D K Shivakumar for the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the Congress-JDS coalition government in the state. According to the sources, Parameshwara strongly demanded the deputy chief ministership along with the home ministry, while former home minister Ramalinga Reddy has expressed his wish to retain Home ministry. Moreover, sources said that D K Shivakumar, who played a major role in the formation of the coalition government, also demanded the home ministry and is said to be lobbying for it at the high-command level. Considering the upcoming Lokasabha elections, DKS may be appointed as KPCC president. Anyhow, the Deputy CM post has become a headache for the Congress party. Along with the above three, names of M B Patil, Shyamanoor Shivashankarappa and Sathish Jarakiholi are also on the list. Source: News Karnataka
