Rain wreaks havoc in Coastal Karnataka

June 20, 2015 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Heavy rain, accompanied by strong wind for the last two days has caused extensive damage to properties in Coastal Karnataka. However, there were no reports of any casualty from anywhere in the district. Several electricity poles and trees were uprooted and damages to roof tops of schools and houses were reported from several places in Bhatkal. In Karwar and Sirsi too, electricity poles were uprooted due to strong winds triggering panic among locals. It may be noted that entire Coastal Karnataka witnessed heavy rains on Thursday and Friday. -ARF
