Raid on Quarry of Kundapur BJP taluk member: Eight people arrested

Kundapur, Mar 18: A team of police, led by Karkala ASP P. Krishnakant, carried out raids on illegal mining in the limits of Kota and Shankaranarayana police stations on Monday afternoon. The police arrested eight people and seized vehicles and assets as well.
Based on a tip-off regarding storage of illegal explosives at a quarry belonging to BJP's Kundapur gram panchayat member Chandrashekhar, the police raided the quarry and arrested writer Adarsh Shetty, drivers Suresh and Ratnakar.
The police seized 32 gelatin sticks, two lorries and four bikes which were illegally stocked in the Quarry. Kota police Inspector Rafeeq and constables had participated in the operation. A case has been registered at the Kota police station in this regard.
