Rabita’s interaction meet with non-Muslims a resounding success

Bhatkal - 24 Dec 2012: An interaction meet hosted by Rabita Society, Bhatkal held at Mango Farm proved to be a resounding hit. There was a good presence of non-Muslims from diverse castes and groups who mingled with a large group of NRIs and important local Muslims. Community leader Syed Khalil Rahman called upon the audience to explore more ways to enhance relations between Muslims and Non-Muslims. Mohammed Ghous Khalifa, General Secretary of Rabita Society, asserted that petty issues should not be blown out of proportion. Shivananad Naik, ex-MLA, exhorted the youths of all communities to come together while JD Naik, MLA, said such get-together go a long way in enhancing our relations. Aftab Kola, community’s prominent journalist based in Oman, said that such an event should include activities like games, quizzes, more interactive sessions. Others who spoke included Jukaku Abdul Rahim, General Secretary, Anjuman; Krishanand Naik; Inayatulah Shabandri, TMC president; and Nagendra Naik, advocate.
Dr Owais Ruknuddin, treasurer, BMKC, proposed a vote of thanks. The event saw participation of over 300 guests which include families. The guests were treated with delectable fish biryani and other items.
