Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 15 Aug 20016: On the occasion of 70th Independence day of India, Rabita Society Bhatkal officially kicked off the ‘Clean Bhatkal Campaign’. Rabita Society Members along with Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF) volunteers took to the streets of Madina Colony, to clean the surrounding from garbage and other wastes from the streets. What turned out to be a wonderful gesture was prominent leaders of the community came ahead and took the charge of the volunteers in cleaning the streets, by getting themselves into the cleaning process barehanded, hence setting an example of leadership by leading from the front. Those included SM Syed Khaleel-ur-Rehman, former TMC president Inayathullah Shabandri, convener of the campaign Jailani Shabandri, Gen Secy. Rabita society, Mohinudeen Ruknuddin, and MLA Mankal Vaidya. With wholehearted support from BMYF volunteers it seemed to be an perfect kick off for the campaign, which is one of the two ambitious projects launched by the Rabita society in association with Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal. Another project ‘Road Safety Drive’ aims to bring down the ratio of road mishaps in the town which has been a reason for worries in recent times.
