Quick thinking of KSRTC bus and truck drivers saves over 50 lives after bus' brakes failure

Yellapur 30 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A KSRTC bus driver rammed his bus to a truck continuously which was travelling ahead of him, several times while negotiating the curves at ghat section at Yellapur after the breaks failed to reduce the speed of the bus here on Saturday afternoon. The KSRTC bus with 48 passengers onboard was on its way towards Karwar from Hubli. However, the breaks of the bus failed near the ghat section of Yellapur. With no other option left to reduce the speed of the bus and negotiate the bus speed near the curves, the bus driver Eshwar deliberately rammed his vehicle to the goods-laden truck which was moving ahead of him. Sensing that something was wrong with the bus, the truck driver Eranna slowed down his truck near the curves and managed to bring his vehicle to halt along with the bus. Awareness and quick thinking of both the drivers saved the lives of as many as 50 peoples from the bus. Meanwhile the the front portion of the bus and the rear portion of the lorry suffered dents due to the deliberate collisions. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
