Qanoon ki Rehguzar: A legal guide book in Urdu released

While majority of the Urdu readers aren’t aware of the laws mentioned in the Indian Constitution or find difficult to comprehend as fewer books on legal matters were penned in Urdu, Mr. Zia-ul-haq Karnataki, a well known writer, an Urdu columnist for various news papers and a practicing advocate has written a book ‘Qanoon Ki Rahguazar’ to make people aware, educate, and to illustrate the importance of law. A former member of Urdu Academy for two terms, Mr. Haq is a highly acclaimed writer who was honoured with the title of ‘Baba-e-Urdu’ for his myriad contribution to the Urdu literature. The book ‘Qanoon Ki Rahguazar’ which was released recently is a compendium of Laws pertaining to the Muslim Personal Laws and Family Laws, under the Indian Constitution. The book consists of 1040 pages is divided into five chapters: General Laws, Civil Laws, Criminal Laws, Muslim Personal Laws and some important articles and fundamental rights from the Indian Constitution. “The objective behind the book is to create legal awareness among the Urdu Readers,” Mr. Zia told Karnataka Muslims. The general laws in the book contain the laws related to fraudulent, ignorance of law and order whereas the civil laws covers the issues related to the properties. Adultery, Rape, Murder, Dacoit, etc. are included in the criminal offences while the chapter Muslim personal laws carries the issues related to Marriage, Divorce, Inheritance, distribution of properties, and the moral responsibilities. The fundamental rights mentioned in the Indian Constitution are discussed in the last chapter of the book.
