According to the Station Master, Mr K S N Murthy, this facility will be available daily from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, later it could be extended depending upon the number of passengers. He also said that, the counter will function temporarily at the moment and if it receives on an average 50 forms per day, it could be made permanent. On Mumbai CST train stoppage at Bhatkal he said, currently the passenger count at Bhatkal railway station is 278, if this number is improved, the train will stop.

It may be noted that, social worker, Mr Syed Hasan Barmavar is continuously trying for PRS and Mumbai CST train stoppage at Bhatkal for quite some time. He has submitted letters at various levels including Prime Minister in this regard and recently he had received a reply from the office of Prime Minister directing railway authority to take necessary step.
