Protest against molestation: 80 girls quit school and sit on hunger strike in Haryana

Rohtak: Girl students of Gothera Tappa Dahena village in Rewari’s Khol bock are on hunger strike and stopped going to school. They demand to upgrade the village high school to senior secondary school as they have to go to school in Kanwali which is three kilometers from the village.
According to the news published in Hindustan Times, around 80 girl, students of class XI and XII who are on hunger strike alleged that they are being harassed by local boys on the way.
Girls claim that they have brought this matter in the notice of Sarpanch, who in turn took the matter with authorities, but till now no step has been taken.
Meanwhile, on Friday, four girls are shifted to hospital after their health got deteriorated.
According to the news published in Hindustan Times, talking on this matter, Suresh Chauhan, village Sarpanch said girls are regularly molested by men wearing helmets on their bikes.
However, Dharamvir Balodia, DEO said that Sarpanch and parents mislead girls.
Sangeeta Kalia, SP said that she personally spoke with the girls and no one complaint of molestation or harassment.
It is to be mentioned that in the same district, last year one girl was allegedly raped on the way to school in another village.
