Prominent Nawayat businessman from Bhatkal, SM Syed Khalil, passes away in Dubai

Dubai/Bhatkal, Nov 21 – (Bhatkallys News Bureau)SM Syed Khalil, a prominent businessman and philanthropist from Bhatkal, passed away in Dubai early Thursday morning after a brief illness. The news was confirmed by his son, SM Syed Rayees, at 1:22am (UAE Time). Known fondly as ‘C A Khalil,’ he was a revered figure in the Nawayat community and Coastal Karnataka for his contributions to international trade, education, and social welfare.  

Hailing from Bhatkal’s culturally rich Nawayat community, Syed Khalil’s life journey was a source of inspiration and pride for his hometown. He was among the first Chartered Accountants from Bhatkal, earning widespread respect for his financial expertise and leadership. His achievements in business and dedication to social causes brought significant recognition to the town and the larger Nawayat community.  

Khalil ventured to the Gulf in 1978, where his commitment and dedication played a crucial role in the success of the Galadari Company in Dubai. Over three decades, he helped elevate the company to great heights, earning the trust and admiration of many. He later founded K&K Enterprises General Trading Company in Sharjah, further establishing his prominence in international trade.  

Beyond his business accomplishments, Syed Khalil was deeply committed to social service and education. As a strong advocate for girls’ education, he worked tirelessly to establish and support institutions that provided opportunities for the underprivileged. He served as the President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen and Rabita Society, organizations focused on the welfare of the Nawayat community.  

Syed Khalil was also the Chairman of Madhyama Communications Ltd., Mangalore, through which he contributed to the promotion of Kannada and Konkani languages and culture. His philanthropic efforts and leadership extended beyond his immediate community, earning him respect across Karnataka and beyond.  

His demise is a significant loss to Bhatkal and the Kannadiga community. Tributes are pouring in from various quarters, remembering him as a visionary leader, a compassionate philanthropist, and a proud son of Bhatkal. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
